The 2024 harvesting grape season is coming to an end: started during the summer season but finished during the autumn. This season, as we have mentioned in other blog entries, is the most special and awaited by any winery.

At Celler Josep Vicens, we have very little left before we can call it an end, but we can already say that it has been a campaign with very marked results due to the drought. As you know, Terra Alta is a dryland area, but the last few years have been some of the hardest in history, reaching the point where some vines have died due to the lack of water received.

This situation is a reality that has been with us for several years and, like all farmers, it affects us especially at a productive level. In our case, we have seen a decrease in total production compared to recent years, a fact that will lead us to do a deep reflection to try to find alternative solutions to this situation.

Despite this setback, at Celler Josep Vicens we have worked hard throughout the year so that the harvested grapes have the best possible quality. This year we will find a production that may be more limited compared to other years, but a job well done always pays off and, in this case, the goal remains the same as always: to improve our wines.

Now all that remains is to wish for a year full of hydrological abundance so that our land can recover everything it has lost, so that the next campaign is the best possible.
